Homophones: Steel & Steal

Homophones Booklet: Steel and Steal
I created a mini booklet spread that was visually appealing and focused on homophones, or words that sound alike but have different spellings or meanings. I focused especial attention to the combination "steel" and "steal." I carefully incorporated a tale about a heroic steel character with stealing abilities into the plot. I wanted to explain the differences between these two homophones as clearly as possible while simultaneously drawing the reader in with an appealing story and my illustrations. I used my knowledge of InDesign to figure out the booklet's layout, making sure it had an eye-catching appearance, as well as previously sketched out layout possibilities.
I gained an improved understanding of design concepts and the significance of visual hierarchy, typography, and grid systems in producing layouts that work through the lectures, and conversations in this subject. Using this understanding, I  planned the layout for my project, making sure that the visual  moved the reader through the information while maintaining coherence and clarity.

In addition, I improved my ability to use grids to create harmony and balance in the booklet spread. By emphasizing these elements, I hope to improve the design's readability and overall impact while also successfully informing the audience about the differences between "steel" and "steal."
As I thought back on the exercises and peer discussions from earlier work in progresses, I realized how important visual hierarchy and reader satisfaction are when designing booklets. Using this knowledge, I incorporated illustrations and a good layout for my booklet in an effort to grab the reader's interest and make the homophones easier to understand. In addition, I used the visual design principles I from previous modules to create effective images  and layouts that successfully communicated the desired message. Through a combination of concepts from both the present and past modules, I was able to produce a visually striking booklet layout that explains and engages the audience with the subtle differences between "steel" and "steal."
